Sidetracking Smarter The Power of the Whipstock System

In the complex world of drilling operations, challenges like stuck pipe, depleted zones, or the need for reservoir re-entry demand innovative solutions. That’s where the whipstock system comes into play.

By enabling precise casing window milling, the whipstock system allows us to sidetrack efficiently from an existing wellbore—saving time, cost, and the need to drill a new well from surface.

How It Works:
A whipstock (a steel, wedge-shaped tool) is set and oriented at a predetermined depth inside casing.
A milling assembly is run to cut a clean, angled window through the casing and cement sheath.
The new wellbore is then drilled out in a controlled sidetrack path toward the new target zone.

Applications
-Sidetracking around problem zones
-Re-entry into old wells
-Multilateral well development

Benefits
-Extends well life
-Enhances reservoir access
-Cuts operational costs
