Oil & Gas Well Drilling

  1. Seismic Survey
Acquire subsurface data to locate hydrocarbon prospects.
  2. Site Selection & Permits
Choose well location, secure environmental and drilling permits.
  3. Location Preparation
Level site, build access road, dig pits or prepare closed loop.
  4. Conductor Casing
Drill shallow hole, set large-diameter pipe, and cement to protect surface.
  5. Spud the Well – Surface Hole
Drill surface section, run casing, and cement to isolate shallow formations.
  6. Install BOP Stack
Install and test blowout preventer for well control.
  7. Drill Intermediate Section
Drill deeper to isolate pressured or unstable formations; run and cement casing.
  8. Drill Production Section
Reach the reservoir; collect logs and evaluate formation.
  9. Run Production Casing or Liner
Set final casing or liner across pay zone and cement it.
  10. Perforation
Use perforating guns to connect reservoir to wellbore (for cased hole).
  11. Well Completion
Install tubing, packers, and safety valves; stimulate if needed (acid or frac).
  12. Install Surface Equipment
Install wellhead, Christmas tree, and tie-in to flowlines.
  13. Start Production
Begin flowing hydrocarbons to surface for processing or storage.
