During drilling operations, sometimes pieces of metal or broken parts may fall into the wellbore. These are called junk. If left inside, they can stop the drilling process.

At such times, we need to use special tools known as fishing tools. Fishing jobs are of two main types:

Spear → used for retrieving stuck or dropped tubular parts.

Junk Basket → used for retrieving broken pieces or small junk at the bottom of the well.
