The CT operation was carried out successfully to retrieve plug from the wellbore by using the GS pulling tool.
The GS Pulling Tool is a retrieval tool used in coiled tubing well intervention to retrieve plugs from the wellbore safely and efficiently.
Operating Procedure:
✅ 1. Surface Function Test of GS tool
Connect the GS Tool to the coiled tubing.
Pump clean water through the tool.
Gradually increase the pump rate, record the pump rate and pump pressure at which pump rate the GS Tool activates.
Verify that the tool functions correctly by reducing its outside diameter (OD).
✅ 2. Run in Hole (RIH)
Run the GS Tool into the well without pumping until approaching the plug.
✅ 3. Activate the Tool
Before reaching the plug, start pumping at the recorded activation rate and pressure.
The pressure reduces the tool’s outside diameter, allowing it to enter the plug while maintaining the required pump rate.
✅ 4. Engage the Plug
Once the GS Tool is fully inside the plug profile, stop pumping.
The tool returns to its normal outside diameter, allowing the slips to expand and securely latch onto the plug.
✅ 5. Retrieve the Plug
Confirm the tool is properly engaged, retrieve the plug to the surface.
